Willis Jr. High Videos
In the Fall 2000 program, students learned to convey information effectively, to interpret situations insightfully, and to express their ideas through the application of advanced digital video production and post-production techniques. Approaches of the traditional broadcast and cable medium as well as the emerging field of internet video distribution are explored. A major emphasis of this course was student participation in writing, producing, directing, and electronically editing a video production, along with meaningful criticism and analysis of a variety of video products.

Goals
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the video production process through the creation of various course projects. Create multimedia components by capturing video and audio, and digitizing source materials.

2. Integrate multimedia components including audio, video and images into final project.

Evaluation
Students will establish an ongoing portfolio of their work from classroom assignments. The portfolio consists of labs, classroom assignments, journal reflection entries, critiques of materials, homework assignments, and a final project in digital format. Students are evaluated individually relative to the attainment of the stated goals, quality of the work, and the effectiveness of communicating their message through their various course projects.

The following criteria was used to evaluate the portfolio:

Daily reflections
Weekly summaries
